Roberto Basili

Roberto Basili is Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Roma, Tor Vergata, since April 2017, where he currently reaches “Data Mining”, “Web Mining and Retrieval”, “Database Systems” for the Computer Science and Computer Engineering curriculum.
His research started in 1990 on problems, methodologies and technologies for Natural Language Processing, Knowledge Representation and Machine Learning as well as in the Engineering of Web-based Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval systems. He is author of more than 160 publications on international journals (h-Index : 31), proceedings of International Conferences and Workshops.
Beside being the member of AIxIA Board of Trustees, he is co-Founder and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Italian Association for Computational Linguistics (AILC), since September 2015.  He his the co-founder and Chief Scientist of Reveal srl, a spin-off of the Universty of Roma, Tor Vergata, since 2012.

He plays as Co-editor in chief of the Italian Journal of Computational Linguistics in coordination with Simonetta Montemagni (ILC, CNR, Pisa). He has been member of the Program and Organizing Committee of more than 60 International Conferences and Workshops. He acts regularly as a reviewer for the most important journals of his research area (among others, Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research, Applied Artificial Intelligence, ACM Transaction on Speech and Language Processing, Natural Language Engineering) as well as in the Reviewing Committee of the most important International Conferences with a yearly schedule (ACM-SIGIR, ACL, COLING, IJCAI, EMNLP).
