Journal History
The journal Intelligenza Artificiale, published by IOS Press, is the main publication of the association. Intelligenza Artificiale is an international journal that publishes contributions in English twice a year and it is available both online and in print.
The official periodical of the association before Intelligenza Artificiale was “AIxIA Notizie” which was published from 1988, when the association was founded, to 2003. In 2004 the association decided to make the periodical of the association an international journal and Intelligenza Artificiale was born.
The Editors in Chief of the journal were:
- 2004-2010 Donato Malerba
- 2011-2015 Oliviero Stock
- 2016-today Fabrizio Riguzzi
In 2013, it occurred the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Association and it was celebrated with a special issue of the journal dedicated to the activity of the members in the first quarter of a century.
50 years of AI
In 2006 we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Dartmouth school of 1956, which is commonly referred to as the event that gave birth to the Artificial Intelligence research field. To celebrate the anniversary, AIxIA edited a special issue (in English) of Artificial Intelligence dedicated to the state of the art of the research in various subfields of AI in Italy and in the world 50 years after its birth.
